Lazy Parenting Hack - SAY YES

ALWAYS...say it with me...

“Yes, I would love you to take the older ones out to the park.”
“Yes hunny, please go to the grocery store with this list.”
“Yes, I would totally appreciate you driving them to and home from practice. “
“Yes, please come over and hold the baby so I can have a shower and a nap.”
“Yes, I would love a coffee/tea from Starbucks. “

YES. YES. YES.

As difficult as it may be for you, I urge you to take the help offered. Accept food/dinner/meals. Let friends take your older ones to the park. Let hubby pick up groceries on his way home. Let your friend come hold baby while you shower and have a nap.

You do not have to do it all yourself. There is no shame in help. You have nothing to prove. To anyone. Having children is TOUGH. Take the help that is offered and if no one offers —-ask for it 💯

And friends—-if you know someone with children or have a close friend who is a new mom DON’t just say “let me know if you need anything.” 99% would never dream of asking for anything. YOU must be the one to reach out BUT be SPECIFIC. Start with any of the above. And if the answer is no, ask again. Sincerely. Check back with them as often as you can.

We are a village. Let’s remember to support, raise each other up, and allow each other to fall into the safety of our arms. Because, the truth is we all fall. Let’s make sure we all get up, again & again.
